⚔ Latin: Ladning til skydevåben. Fællesbetegnelse for det til et våben hørende projektil, den til våbent hørende ladning, samt det tændmiddel, tændammunitionen, hvorved ladningen, sprængstoffet, eksplosivstofferne, andtændes.
Der skelnes mellem atomar- og konventionel ammunition og ammunition som kun kan anvendes militært eller civilt.
Til ammunition hører finkrudt, krudt, krudtposer og lunter.
Ammunitionsfabrikker er, hvad enten de er statslige eller private, en el af det militærindustrielle kompleks.
Fremstilling af ammunition er stærkt miljøforurenende.
